Subject lands at 850 Riverside Drive, Ajax, Ontario

The Town of Ajax is in receipt of a Zoning By-law Amendment Application (Z1/24), submitted by 850 Riverside Drive Inc., on behalf of Muhammad Khan, to facilitate the development of five (5) single detached dwellings on lands located at 850 Riverside Drive. A total of 5 dwellings are proposed. The submitted materials are available in the documents tab.

The purpose of the Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone the subject property to facilitate the development of 5 single detached dwellings. The subject lands will also be subject to future Consent Applications

You have the opportunity to review and comment on the proposed Zoning By-law amendment prior to and during its consideration by Council of the Corporation of the Town of Ajax, at a Statutory Public Meeting to be held at Town of Ajax Town Hall on Tuesday May 21, 2024 at 1 p.m.

A copy of the staff report with recommendations to Council on the Zoning By-law Amendment Application will be available by end of day on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 in the agenda for the meeting, available at ajax.ca/meetings. Alternative formats of the documents and materials can be made available upon request in order to assist those who require accessibility accommodations.


How to Participate

This statutory public meeting is being held in-person in Council Chambers, located at Ajax Town Hall, 65 Harwood Avenue South, Ajax, Ontario, L1S 2H9, and will be live-streamed for public viewing at ajax.ca/live. Those wishing to make oral submissions can attend in-person and will have 5 minutes to address Council; pre-registration is not required for in-person attendance. If you are unable to attend in-person, electronic remote participation via the Town’s Hybrid Conference System is available as an option and can be arranged by contacting clerks@ajax.ca no later than 12 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024.

Written submissions may be provided for Council’s consideration before the meeting. Please submit your written comments before end of day on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 by e-mail to Nathaniel Landry, Planner, at nathaniel.landry@ajax.ca. Alternatively, written submissions may be provided in the Questions/Comments box below.

Planning Act Requirements

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the Town of Ajax to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Ajax before the proposed zoning by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Ajax before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
