725 Westney Road South
The Town of Ajax is in receipt of the above noted application, which seeks to permit an indoor shooting range and an accessory retail sales outlet in association with a warehousing use as permitted uses within the Prestige Employment Zone at 725 Westney Road South (the “subject lands”).
The application is proposing a 2,385 square metres expansion of the existing building with a second-storey addition to accommodate an indoor shooting range facility comprised of a 15-lane shooting range on the first floor, and a 7-lane range on the second floor. The redevelopment also proposes a warehouse for the distribution of firearms and ammunition, an accessory retail sales outlet, two training classrooms, a restaurant on the ground floor, office spaces, and onsite 24/7 security.
The purpose of this Zoning By-law Amendment Application is to establish a site-specific zoning Exception (Exception 224), to:
- establish an indoor shooting range as a permitted use;
- establish an accessory retail store outlet for the sale of products of a primary warehousing use as a permitted use; and
- implement site-specific development standards to accommodate the proposed redevelopment.
