Why was Hermitage Park selected for this opportunity?

The playground was originally installed in 2005 and has exceeded its lifecycle. Due to this the playground is no longer meeting the needs of the community and is not AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) compliant. Originally, the project was scheduled to be constructed in 2025, but with the grant funding from KABOOM! Inc. and Foresters Financial to fund the upgrades for the playground, the build is expected to be completed this October.

Previous Community Engagement Opportunities

Hermitage Park Design Day was held on August 7, 2024 and provided an opportunity for the community to provide their feedback about the future of Hermitage Park. The day included a Kids' Design Workshop, where kids were able to help design their future playground by drawing their dream play space, and Adults' Design Workshop where you could learn more about the project and how to get involved to help turn the kids’ dream play spaces into a reality. An online community survey was available until August 10 for those unable to attend Design Day to provide feedback.
