The Town is undertaking a review of traditional communications tools used to connect with our community to ensure community needs and expectations are being met, and to ensure we are aligned with municipal best practices across the Region and Greater Toronto Area. This review connects with the Town's 2022 - 2026 Strategic Plan - Action26 under the pillar of "Modernizing our Community" and priority of "Rethink the way we Communicate".

What is a traditional communication tool?

A traditional communication tool refers to any method or device that has been used historically for communication purposes. These tools have been used by humans for centuries before the advent of modern technologies. Some examples of traditional communication tools include:

  1. Postal Mail: Sending letters and packages through postal services for long-distance communication.
  2. Telephone: A device used for voice communication over long distances through wired or wireless networks.
  3. Fax Machine: A machine used for transmitting documents electronically over telephone lines.
  4. Radio: Broadcasting and receiving audio signals for information and entertainment.
  5. Television: Transmitting and receiving visual and audio signals for broadcasting programs and news.
  6. Newspapers and Magazines: Printed publications for disseminating information to a wide audience.
  7. Face-to-Face Meetings: Direct communication between individuals or groups in person.

Would you prefer a hard copy of the community survey? Pick up a copy of Ajax Today from any of our community centres (Ajax Community Centre, McLean Community Centre, Audley Recreation Centre) to fill out the survey slip. Completed surveys can be dropped off to front-counter staff at the centres or Ajax Town Hall or mailed to 65 Harwood Avenue South, L1S 2H9.

Other Engagement

Feedback will also be collected through focus groups (Town's Youth Engagement Advisory Committee, Accessibility Committee, Ajax Anti-Racism Task Force and senior centres) and through surveying other municipalities.
