33 Hunt Street

This notice is to advise of the opportunity to review and comment on the proposed Official Plan Amendment Application OPA24-A16 and Zoning By-law Amendment Application Z20/24, prior to consideration of such by the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Ajax, at a Statutory Public Meeting to be held at a later date.

Official Plan Amendment Application OPA24-A16 and Zoning By-law Amendment Application Z20/24 seek to permit the proposed development of 33 Hunt Street (the “subject lands”) which is a vacant parking area at the Harwood Plaza. Harwood Plaza includes land municipally addressed as 280, 290, 300, 310, 314, 320 and 380 Harwood Avenue South. All existing buildings in the plaza are to be retained as part of the proposed development.

The purpose of the Official Plan Amendment Application is to amend the Commercial Mixed Use 1 designation to increase the permitted building height from 25 storeys to 30 storeys. The purpose of the Zoning By-law Amendment Application is to amend the DCA/MU – Downtown Central Area – Mixed Use Zone to establish site-specific development standards that would implement the proposed development. These amendments will facilitate the proposed development of the subject lands for 863 residential units and 886.7m2 of retail within three mixed-use buildings which are 16, 23 and 30 storeys in height.

Further details on the development proposal in general are available on this page.
