The Town of Ajax is in receipt of Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment Applications, submitted by Your Home Developments (Lake Driveway) Inc., proposing the development of an 8-storey apartment dwelling and a 3-storey stacked townhouse dwelling block for a total of 181 dwelling units. One level of underground parking and a partial level of structured parking is proposed to accommodate the development. The lands affected by the proposed development are 253 and 255 Lake Driveway West.

The purpose of the Official Plan Amendment Application (OPA20-A3) is to re-designate the lands to a site-specific Neighbourhood Centre designation to permit additional uses and increase the maximum permitted building height. The purpose of the Zoning By-law Amendment Application (Z4/20) is to rezone the lands to a site-specific Local Commercial (LC) Zone to permit additional uses and set site-specific development standards to facilitate the proposed development.

A Site Plan Application (SP6/21) has also been submitted to facilitate the proposed development. The purpose of the Site Plan Application is to review and examine the design and technical aspects of the proposed development. The future submission of a Draft Plan of Condominium Application may also be required to establish the residential tenure of the proposed development.

Electronic Statutory Public Meeting:

We invite you to attend a Statutory Public Meeting to be held electronically on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 7 p.m., to comment on the Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment Applications prior to consideration of such by the Community Affairs and Planning Committee of the Corporation of the Town of Ajax. A copy of the staff report with recommendations to the Community Affairs and Planning Committee on the Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment Applications will be available by end of day on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 in the agenda for the meeting, available at ajax.ca/meetings. Alternative formats of documents and materials can be made available upon request in order to assist those who require accessibility accommodations.

How to Participate

Due to COVID-19, physical attendance is not permitted at the public meeting. This public meeting is being held electronically and will be livestreamed for public viewing at ajax.ca/live. You can make a representation to the Committee on the proposed development in the following ways:

  1. Written Submission
    Written submissions may be provided for the Committee’s consideration before the meeting. Please submit your written comments before 12 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 by e-mail to Eric Simpson, Senior Planner, at eric.simpson@ajax.ca. Alternatively, written submissions may be provided by using the Comments/Feedback tool below.
  2. Oral Submission
    Oral submissions may be provided for the Committee’s consideration before the meeting. Please submit your oral comments before 12 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 by calling 905-619-2529, ext. 3270 and leaving your comments via voicemail message. Please include a reference to the submitted development applications/proposal and state your full name, address, phone number, and an e-mail address in your message.
  3. Participation in Zoom Meeting
    To make oral representations at the meeting on livestream, you must pre-register with the Clerk’s office by contacting clerks@ajax.ca before 12 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021. Please include your full name, address, and a call-back number. You will be contacted by the Clerk’s office to confirm your participation and receive the online and call-in information before the meeting. Technical assistance may be provided to ensure that you are able to participate.
