The Town of Ajax is undertaking the detailed design for the widening of Rossland Road from Westney Road to east of Lake Ridge Road. In coordination with this effort, the Region of Durham is responsible for the detailed design of the Rossland Road and Lake Ridge Road intersection. Construction is anticipated to begin in summer 2026, subject to property acquisition and utility relocation timelines.


The project scope includes:

  • Widening Rossland Road from two lanes to four lanes
  • Raising the road profile between Audley Road and Lake Ridge Road
  • New multi-use paths and sidewalks
  • Storm sewer and culvert replacement
  • Stormwater management improvements
