Rossland Road Widening

The Town of Ajax is undertaking the detailed design for the widening of Rossland Road from Westney Road to east of Lake Ridge Road. In coordination with this effort, the Region of Durham is responsible for the detailed design of the Rossland Road and Lake Ridge Road intersection.

The project scope includes:

• Widening Rossland Road from two lanes to four lanes
• Raising the road profile between Audley Road and Lake Ridge Road
• New multi-use paths and sidewalks
• Storm sewer and culvert replacement
• Stormwater management improvement

The work is expected to be completed in three segments/phases:

• Segment A - Westney Road to Salem Road
• Segment B - Salem Road to Audley Road
• Segment C - Audley Road to Lakeridge Road

Work with utilities partners is expected to be complete by the end of 2026 for Segment A, with road construction anticipated between 2027 – 2028. A temporary lane configuration will maintain two lanes of traffic throughout the construction of Segment A.
