The Town of Ajax is in receipt of Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment applications, submitted by Medallion Developments Inc., to facilitate the future development of vacant lands located on the north side of Rossland Road East between Audley Road North and the Carruthers Creek / Stormwater Pond for high and mid-rise residential apartments, and townhouse dwellings.

The purpose of the Official Plan Amendment is to increase the density limit, to permit apartment and multiple attached (block townhouse) dwellings, and to permit a minimum height of 3-storeys for multiple attached (block townhouse) dwellings.

The purpose of the Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone a portion of the lands to Residential Multiple Six Zone (RM6), to permit commercial/retail uses within an apartment, to establish the maximum density and to set site-specific development standards.

Public Meeting at Community Affairs and Planning Committee - September 7, 2021

We invite you to attend the electronic public meeting to learn more about this development proposal, identify any concerns, and to provide comments on these applications prior to, or during its consideration by the Community Affairs and Planning Committee, at a meeting to be held electronically on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Further details on the proposed development are available on this page.

A copy of the staff report with recommendations to the Community Affairs and Planning Committee on the development applications will be available by end of day on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in the agenda for the meeting, available at ajax.ca/meetings. Alternative formats of documents and materials can be made available upon request in order to assist those who require accessibility accommodations.

The applicant has appealed the applications to the Ontario Land Tribunal. A second Case Management Conference has been scheduled for October 15, 2021. Following the public meeting, the Committee will determine the position the Town will take at the future hearing of the appeals.
