Recreation and Parks Master Plan has finished this stage
Background
research and public consultation will form the foundation of the Master Plan.
This phase will involve a review of relevant background documents, analysis of
the community’s demographic profile, research on relevant trends, preparing
inventories and mapping of the Town’s recreation and parks assets, reviewing
programs and services provided by the Town, and obtaining community input into
the Master Plan.
PHASE 2 Needs Assessments & Concept Development
Recreation and Parks Master Plan is currently at this stage
Needs
assessments for parkland and recreation facilities will be undertaken. The
development of high-level conceptual designs for three locations: Audley
Recreation Centre (Phase 3), Ajax Community Centre, and Pickering Village
Community Complex will be undertaken based upon the findings of the needs
assessments. Conceptual designs prepared through this phase will be subject to
additional public consultation processes.
PHASE 3 Core Services Review & Draft Master Plan
this is an upcoming stage for Recreation and Parks Master Plan
Various
municipal programs and services related to recreation and parks will be assessed.
This will include undertaking a review of best practices, benchmarking, and
service levels to ensure that the Town is positioned to meet the needs of
current and future residents. A draft Recreation and Parks Master Plan will be developed
during this phase.
PHASE 4 Finalize Master Plan
this is an upcoming stage for Recreation and Parks Master Plan
This
phase is intended to test the draft Master Plan with the community, prior to
finalizing the document for Town Council’s consideration.
