Rossland Road Reconstruction And Watermain Work From Church Street To Westney Road
Notice Of Public Open House
The Town of Ajax and the Region of Durham is undertaking a detailed design to reconstruct Rossland Road from Church Street to Westney Road to install a watermain and widen the road from two-lanes to four-lanes with a center left-turn lane, on-street bike lanes, new sidewalk and multi-use path.
The project follows the recommendations from the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study for Improvements to Rossland Road from Brock Road to Westney Road which was completed in September 2009.
It is anticipated that the watermain construction will start in the summer of 2019 and road reconstruction will commence in the summer of 2020. During the construction of the watermain, Rossland Road will maintain one lane of traffic in each direction. Project information signs will be posted on Rossland Road and updates will also be provided on this project page and Region of Durham’s websites durham.ca.
The Town of Ajax and the Region of Durham will coordinate the timing of works to ensure that access will be maintained to all residences. The watermain work and road widening will also require tree removals along Rossland Road.
