September is Guide Dog Awareness Month

Guide dogs are among the most highly trained dogs in the world and are specifically trained to assist someone who is blind or partially sighted with mobility, orientation and independence.

Learn all about the role of guide dogs, guide dog etiquette, the difference between guide dogs and service animals, and how YOU can be a #GuideDogChampion.

How to Participate

  • Watch out for weekly educational online videos
  • Participate in the Guide Dog colouring contest for your chance to win one of two “Future CNIB Guide Dog” plush toys!
  • Request a FREE “Guide Dogs Welcome” window decal for your business, organization or school
  • Check out the resources in the Document Library

Colouring Contest Details

Congratulations to Victor and Carrie-Ann, winners of the 2020 Guide Dog Awareness Month colouring contest. Each winner will receive a plush CNIB Future Guide Dog toy. Thank you to all those who participated. We loved seeing your colourful entries!

Complete the request form to receive your free CNIB “Guide Dogs Welcome” decal. Display it at your organizations front window or checkout to show your support of guide dog teams in Canada and to raise awareness about guide dog access.
